Job Description:
Problem: They needed assistance with air distribution in accordance with the construction plans and specifications.
Solution: Existing Diffuser Relocation
- Remove existing ceiling supply diffusers from the existing flexible duct connections.
- Extend and relocate existing supply ductwork to accommodate the new reflected ceiling layout.
- Utilize new 12-inch R-8 insulated flexible duct where required to reach the new diffuser locations.
- Reconnect all relocated diffusers after installation of the new suspended ceiling grid and ceiling tiles.
- Support all ductwork with approved hangers and supports in accordance with applicable mechanical code and manufacturer installation requirements.
- Seal all duct connections using approved duct sealant.
- Verify proper airflow after installation and perform minor balancing adjustments where accessible.
New Office Supply Air
- Furnish and install one (1) new 12-inch R-8 insulated supply duct serving the new office.
- Install one (1) new 24” x 24” lay-in supply diffuser.
- Provide and install one (1) manual balancing damper within the new supply branch for airflow adjustment.
Return Air
- Furnish and install one (1) new 12” x 24” return air transfer grille complete with opposed blade damper (OBD).
